Human. Storyteller. Singer. Queer.
It takes a village to make films. My journey as a villager began in 2011, with early attempts at writing and directing my own shorts, assisting directors on two fiction features and supervising post on commercials. In 2015, I set up camp in editing.
Since then, I’ve been collaborating with directors in nurturing their visions across a variety of forms - advertising, documentary, fiction, music video and comedy - honing my craft, building partnerships and a diverse body of work.
My practice draws from other parts of me.
I sing (बचपन से) and have a few years of training in Hindustani Classical vocals. The understanding of music and rhythm often helps on the edit, and was crucial to my work on the music documentaries
The Village Raga (2023) and The Space Between The Notes (2017).
My lived experiences as a queer person add a layer to my perspective and inform my voice in telling stories of queer people, like in case of the documentary series Rainbow Rishta (2023, Amazon Prime Video), the music video Because Because Because (2023) and an upcoming short documentary (2026).
Over the past decade, the camp has grown roots. I hope to keep going, raising new films with fellow villagers and building lasting relationships based on collaboration and trust ❤️
