Project Title: A photographic portrayal of the Parsi community in India

Introduction

A few years back, I researched about the Parsi community. It was a great 6 month long experience which allowed me to explore a new world and learn new skills.

A lot has changed since Parsis settled in India. Efforts are being made to change and preserve the community and the religion. Despite being a tiny community, they have contributed massively to India. Mumbai stands testimony to this. The result was a photo-book compiling my interactions with the community. It covered the topics of religion and their relationship with the Indian community along with a few photographs.

Project Title: A portrait of the Parsi community in India

Introduction

While looking for subjects for my Thesis project, my attention was drawn to the dwindling population of the Parsi community through conversations with a Parsi friend. After some initial reading, I felt like knowing their story from their perspective, leading to an ethnographic study of the community for my Thesis project.

The research required me to connect with strangers and win their trust, so they felt safe while sharing about intimate parts of their life. I realised that religion occupies a central place in the lives of Parsis, a way of staying connected with their roots.

The information I gathered was voluminous, technical and complex. I wished to simplify the data and humanise the participants in my documentation. So I chose the form of a photo-book, focusing on photo-stories of five participants from the community.

It was an enriching 6-month long experience which allowed me to explore a new world and learn a new skill - photography.

Project Title: Mapping emotions: A visual journal

Introduction

This project was born from my experiments with journaling. Articulating emotions can feel daunting sometimes, especially when their triggers are unclear or complex. While struggling with journaling, I discovered that visuals can aid in expression, helping to focus the mind and bring clarity. A month of this exercise helped me observe and understand patterns in my interactions with my surroundings and their impact on my mindspace.

I drew inspiration from ‘Dear Data’ by Giorgia Lupi and Stefanie Posavec, and ‘Mood Meter’ by Marc Brackett. These gave a direction to my process, helping to streamline my thoughts and arrive at a more meaningful and structured way of illustrating my ideas.

Recognition
Stefan Sagmeister is a renowned Austrian graphic designer whose work has been globally exhibited and awarded. He selected the project to feature on his Instagram page.

The project was also featured by Data Visualization Society on its instagram page. DVS is a global community of Data Viz practitioners and enthusiasts, a platform for sharing knowledge, resources and best practices. There, among many kind comments, was one by Giorgia Lupi, the inspiring author mentioned above, who is a prominent award-winning Italian information designer and entrepreneur.

The validation from these iconic names in the field of design widened the reach of my project on social media, bringing an influx of positive responses.

Impact - creating a public resource

Shafie Shahrin, an interaction designer from Singapore, reached out to me with the idea of turning my project into a publicly accessible therapeutic tool, leading to our collaboration on a Figma Community File - a free tool for tracking emotional journeys. Since its release, the template has been downloaded by over 2.2k users.

Project Title: Reimagining the brand identity of Treemouse

Introduction

Treemouse, a design-led agency in Gurgaon, collaborates with businesses to help them grow, innovate, and connect with their customers in ways that feel intuitive. The goal? To make new innovations blend seamlessly into daily life—becoming second nature to users without them even realizing it. This “invisible” integration comes from research-driven design, identifying subtle opportunities to elevate everyday experiences.

As part of our rebranding initiative, we wanted to amplify this core essence. Treemouse already had a unique voice, so our challenge was to refine and evolve it without losing what people initially loved.

Working closely with my colleague Ashis Panday and founder Nishita Gill, we sought to rebuild the brand from its core, making sure the essence remained unmistakable. Our approach transformed the website into a storytelling platform—presenting projects through a more human lens and offering a glimpse into the heart of the studio. We balanced the need for detailed project insights with a warm, approachable design. This effort extended beyond the website, as we crafted a cohesive brand outreach strategy and developed effortless-to-use brand materials for the team, ensuring a unified presence across all touchpoints.

Through a rigorous quality assurance process, we delivered a brand that not only reflected Treemouse’s original charm but elevated it into something even more resonant and lasting.

Project Title: Reimagining the brand identity of Treemouse

Introduction

Treemouse, a design-led product and marketing strategy consultancy, needed to revamp their branding having expanded their services and ventured into diverse sectors. The objective was to embody their evolving identity while staying true to their roots. As a full-time employee at Treemouse at the time, I collaborated with Ashis Panday and founder Nishita Gill on a complete rehaul of their brand identity.

Treemouse’s philosophy was to make innovations invisible - to blend them so seamlessly into daily life that they become second nature to users. In our rebranding, we aimed to infuse this philosophy into the brand’s identity, materials and outreach strategy, along with introducing the team who worked at the studio.

The rebranding process involved shaping a clear purpose for Treemouse and repositioning it in the market with a renewed sense of identity. Every design element was carefully crafted to visually convey the brand’s core values in a creative and meaningful way. The outreach strategy was aimed at creating a lasting presence in the audience, and included versatile, easy-to-use brand materials to equip the team going forward.

From simple animations to studio photos and custom brand elements, I had the opportunity to build everything from scratch. This project became my deep dive into branding, offering the space to explore, experiment and learn while bringing creative ideas to life.

Project Title: Elevating Kapiva's customer rentention through strategic design

Introduction

Kapiva’s Skin Foods Glow Mix, a supplement aimed at improving skin health from within, aligns with the brand’s Ayurvedic philosophy of inside-out healing. However, the skincare market is saturated with products promising rapid results, leading to customer dissatisfaction when expectations are unmet. Kapiva wanted to communicate the value of its holistic approach, emphasizing that true healing is a gradual process that combines internal and external care.

The goal was to promote the combined use of the Glow Mix (supplement) and topical products, fostering a more comprehensive approach to skincare that treats the problem both internally and externally. This project explores the design interventions undertaken to meet these objectives, focusing on enhancing product communication and the digital experience on Kapiva’s website.

Design solutions to highlight Inside-Out wellness

1. Transparent communication of results and expectations

The redesigned content clearly outlines the expected results based on product use: whether customers use only the Glow Mix supplement or combine it with topicals. This differentiation helps set realistic expectations tailored to individual skin concerns and the Ayurvedic healing process.

2. Enhancing the Glow Mix page for a simplified customer experiences

Simplifying the information flow on the Glow Mix page is crucial for reducing cognitive load and guiding customers through a more intuitive experience

Approach 1 - Journey from Homepage to Glow Mix page

This flow allows customers to navigate from Kapiva’s homepage to the Glow Mix page by selecting their specific skin concerns. An interactive skin predictor tool provides a personalized approach, helping users understand the impact of combining the supplement with a topical product. This feature reinforces the concept of dual treatment and guides users toward making informed purchasing decisions.

Approach 2 - Making wellness a daily routine

We integrated visuals on the Glow Mix page to communicate Kapiva’s unique process, showcasing how the combination of internal and external treatments can lead to better results. This approach helpes demystify the efficacy of Ayurvedic healing, encouraging customers to see the value in dual product use.

Please note

This project was undertaken during my tenure at TinkerLabs as a Senior Design Researcher. My role focused on simplifying information through visual storytelling, streamlining the online buying experience, and recommending targeted UI solutions.

The design strategies outlined here were directional proposals, and not final implementations. Kapiva later adopted few recommendations, integrating them into their site to enhance user engagement.

Project Title: Improving Kapiva's product experience through strategic design

Introduction

Kapiva, an Ayurvedic brand offering health & beauty products wished to communicate its holistic approach about skincare - internal and external care - to its customers, so as to promote the combined use of their food supplement “Skin Foods Glow Mix”, along with topical products, and improve the overall purchase experience on their website.

This project was undertaken during my tenure at TinkerLabs as a Senior Design Researcher. My role focused on simplifying information through visual storytelling, streamlining the online buying experience, and recommending targeted UI solutions.

Recommendation 1 - Journey from Home page to product page

In order to improve the navigation experience of direct-to-website users, we recommended the introduction of user concern-based filters. As seen below, the flow would allow customers to navigate from Kapiva’s homepage to the Glow Mix page by selecting their specific skin concerns.

<Video 1>

Recommendation 2 - Promoting combined use of products

We recommended the following options for users directly landing on the product page via ads.

Option 1

The skincare market is saturated with products promising rapid results, leading to customer dissatisfaction when expectations are unmet or incorrectly set. In order to set expectations correctly while also promoting dual product use, we designed an interactive skin predictor tool as seen below, to help users visualise the impact of combining the supplement with a topical product.

<Video 2>

Option 2

‘Skincare routine’ is another popular trend among customers in the skincare market. As seen below, we incorporated this idea of a routine on the product page, integrating it with the brand’s holistic dual care approach, thereby promoting combined use of the supplement and topical products.

<Video 3>

Please note

These design strategies were directional proposals, and not final implementations. Kapiva adopted a few recommendations eventually, integrating them into their website.
